There was never any question that Brittany would not only work with animals but be their voice too! Growing up in a small town in Central Newfoundland, she was inspired to see more of the world before ultimately deciding on a career path. She finished high school then spent a few years travelling and moving to different locations. This brought her to Vancouver and then to Central America, where she realized that there were even more animals than imaginable needing help. That was the year she knew exactly what she wanted to do, and enrolled in the Veterinary Technology program at Dalhousie University. During her time in school, she learned about about reducing the number of homeless animals through the Trap Neuter Release (TNR) program, which quickly turned into her passion. Brittany became a dedicated volunteer and truly believes that every animal deserves a warm home and a full belly. Her goal is to one day, travel to third world countries and participate with organizations that perform spay and neuter clinics for the less fortunate.
Now back in Newfoundland, Brittany has three cats, Bobbi, Luna, and Buddy, and a Betta fish with quite the personality! When at work, her absolute favorite task is looking at samples under the microscope – the grosser and more interesting, the better! When she’s not at work, you’ll most likely find her hiking, fishing or just sitting by the ocean, enjoying nature. She’s always looking for new places to explore!
