Fun Questions
-
What’s your favourite animal and why?
Giraffes hum to locate their group, and their group is called a “tower.”
-
What’s your favourite part about working with animals?
When they get excited to see you and greet you! Going into an appointment and meeting a new pet who’s happy to see us really brightens my day.
-
Share a pet tip or trick that people might not know about?
Start rewarding and handling puppies mouths, ears, nails, and paws to get them used to these sensations, as these are the areas most pets are hesitant about people touching.
Serious Questions
-
What advancements in veterinary medicine are you most excited about?
AI imaging – we have two new “robots” that take high quality photos of masses and can detect certain cells. We can get results in 24 hours that would have taken us a week in the past since all samples had to be sent off-island.

What advice would you give to pet owners to ensure their pets lead healthy lives?
Dental health is incredibly important. Starting to brush their teeth as a puppy or kitten and keeping this up as they age can prevent and slow down dental disease progression. Dental disease not only causes pain and infection in the mouth, but can affect other body systems as well, like heart health and kidney/liver health.
